Papaya is a type of fruit that grows naturally in Mexico and throughout several tropical and sub-tropical areas in the Western hemisphere. Its active enzyme, papain, has multiple uses and is sometimes included as an additive in soap. These soaps are typically marketed specifically as papaya soap, and are believed to offer particular benefits due to their botanical content. Exfoliation Papain enzyme on the other hand generally works by exfoliating the skin which means it can get rid of old skin cells and expose the whiter layers of your skin. This also works as an effective anti-acne treatment because as it exfoliates, it unclogs pores and relieves inflammation caused by acne.

Bearberry extract is made from the leaves of the bearberry plant. It is commonly used as an astringent in cosmetic preparations and skin care products. Astringents are cleansers that remove dirt and oil from the skin's pores. It is also used as a lightening agent to fade freckles or skin discoloration which may be caused by sun damage or hormonal conditions. Bearberry extract is reputed to have antibacterial and antioxidant properties that may be beneficial for cleansing the skin and improving its appearance. It is thought by some to increase cell turnover rate, thus shedding old skin cells which do not reflect light as smoothly and make the skin look dull.
